We will also have a section dedicated to our new and upcoming Goalie Wars Competitions. A series of competitions will be set up throughout the year and you will be able to test your skills against other goalkeepers within GPS-MA. We will keep a ranking in the following age groups: U11/12, U13/14, U15/16, U17/18 boys and girls.

Our special feature will be a “Goalkeeper Spotlight” where we will highlight outstanding individual achievements. To help get us going, please send us any action photos or stories you may have. Please make sure to include your name, age group and team name. Send your stories/photos to: squinones@globalpremiersoccer.com

One of our goals for the GPS-MA Goalkeeping program will be to introduce a new training curriculum for all age groups. This curriculum will be a year-by-year progression for each goalkeeper. An important piece to this is that at the younger age groups we want our goalkeepers to be “soccer players” first. It is extremely important that young goalkeepers experience playing in the field. This is part of their long term development as a goalkeeper.

Through the commitment and hard work of our goalkeepers, MPS will set the bar high and lead by example in developing talented goalkeepers.

Our new Director of Goalkeeping is Steve Quinones. “Q” was the goalkeeper for the original Cape Cod Crusaders team in 1993. He is a former professional goalkeeper and college coach. Q was also the goalkeeper coach for the US U17/18 Women’s National Team from 2004 – 2008 as well as head goalkeeping coach for Region I Girls ODP.
