MPS brings Man City’s Head of Performance & Development to MA

Waltham, 23rd October 2012; Mass Premier Soccer will be hosting a Provelop coach’s seminar with Tony Faulkner of Manchester City on November 1st, 6-8pm at the Crowne Plaza Boston, 320 Washington Street, Newton, MA.

Faulker is the Head Performance and Development Manager at EPL side Manchester City, and the founder of Provelop. At Man City he has implemented a Player Development Life-skills programme that helps players and coaches create a lifestyle that is conductive to performing at the highest level. It also ensures that the young players of today become role models and professionals of the future.

Also in attendance will be Christina Dennis, the founder of the Centre of Coaching Excellence and a leader in the field of driving performance through leadership development. Their coaching framework is based on world-class academic thinking, research, sports and business methods.

“MPS is delighted to provide this seminar to the coaches of Massachusetts,” said MPS Director of Coaching Peter Bradley.  “Both Christina and Tony are leaders in their field, and we are excited to have them come over and teach us more about the psychological development of players and how it relates to soccer and life in general. This will be an excellent opportunity for all coaches.”

The seminar will focus on the importance of psychological development. It will look at the science behind mental conditioning, how to develop growth mindset in athletes and train the four factors of mental toughness; emotional control, confidence, concentration, and motivation.
