MPS Announce ‘New’ Director of Coaching for Everett SC

Waltham, 5th September 2012; MPS has announced that the club has appointed a new Director of Coaching to Everett Soccer Club (ESC). Sean Napier will be stepping in and replacing Alexander Oprey who will be moving on to further extend his professional playing career. MPS wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

Sean Napier will be accredited with the responsibility of overseeing player development for ESC with the goal of revitalizing soccer in the town of Everett.

“I am extremely excited and thrilled to be working with Everett Soccer Club. I believe by implementing a grass roots program focusing on U6/U8 player development will be a catalyst for future success for the club,” said Everett SC Director of Coaching Sean Napier.   “ESC envision providing the highest quality of soccer program to their membership and I look forward to guiding this for the betterment of player development within the organization”.

Sean Napier was the perfect candidate from the MPS coaching staff to develop this program with his knowledge and skill set to administer programs both on and off the field.

Napier has played with Donegal Celtic and Cliftonville in the Irish League and was part of the Nottingham Forest Academy in England. Over the last 5 years, Napier has been coaching youth players in Ireland and the United States with players aged U6-U18, administering programs focused on technical player development aimed at maximizing the potential of all players.

“For the fall season we will provide programming for both boys and girls at the U6, U8, U10, U12, and U14 level,” said Napier. “We will be relaunching the U6/U8 program by making it an ‘open registration’ event, where we will implement the MPS Champions League format on a weekly basis.”
