Waltham, MA, 15th August 2012; As the Director of Coaching for the MPS North program I am delighted to announce the MPS Awards for the 2011/2012 season.
It has been a fantastic year of development and growth in the North matched with some on field success. My first congratulations go out to the U16 Knights on winning their first State Cup, this is a great achievement for all involved. The North region had further success when the U16 Lady Knights qualified for the US Club National Cup Finals in Illinois this July. Lead by Karl Southwick, the girls were losing finalists after winning two of their three group games. The U15 Knights are looking forward to a trip to Super-Y National Finals later this year after successfully qualifying through their Regional league, lead by Craig Thomas. As the Fall season quickly approaches, the U13 Lady Knights will be looking to defend their NEP title, won in the Spring this year.
These awards are extremely tough to make as every player plays a part of the success and development in each team. There are a number of factors we take into account when making these decisions and as the DOC of this program I am very proud of the efforts of all our players and coaches this season.
